As the Head of Geography, you will be responsible for leading and developing the geography department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning. • Lead, manage, and inspire a team of Geography teachers, providing guidance and support for their professional development
• Develop and implement an engaging and challenging geography curriculum, ensuring alignment with national standards
• Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning within the department, implementing improvements to enhance student outcomes
• Collaborate with other department heads and senior leadership to promote cross-curricular initiatives and interdisciplinary learning
• Maintain strong communication and partnerships with parents, students, staff, and external stakeholders to foster positive relationships
• Oversee the department budget, resources, and facilities to ensure effective and efficient operations
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements and best practices in geography education to support continuous improvement

• A degree in Geography or a related field
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and preferably a postgraduate qualification in education or leadership
• Proven experience as a Geography teacher, with a track record of achieving excellent results
• Leadership experience, ideally in a Head of Department or similar role
• Deep knowledge and understanding of the geography curriculum and assessment requirements
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Commitment to professional development and staying updated with current trends in education
• Experience working in an impressive school setting, preferably with diverse student populations, is desirable
