We are excited to offer Post Graduate Teaching Apprenticeships (PGTA) starting September 2025 at Bromley Schools' Collegiate. This apprenticeship programme provides a unique opportunity for individuals to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) while earning a salary. Apprentices will be part of our highly successful teacher training programme and will work towards achieving QTS with the End-Point Assessment (EPA) taking place in September 2026.

Course Overview:

The PGTA at Bromley Schools' Collegiate follows a similar structure to our Salaried ITT programme, which has been successful for many years. Apprentices will receive high-quality training and classroom experience, including two placements in contrasting schools to gain a diverse perspective on teaching.

The training will begin in September 2025 and conclude in July 2026 with a recommendation for QTS. The EPA will take place in September 2026 to assess the apprentices' readiness to be qualified teachers.

How the PGTA Programme Works:

• Start Date: September 2025

• End-Point Assessment (EPA): September 2026

The PGTA will maintain the same evidence requirements and placement structure as the Salaried ITT programme, providing apprentices with the tools and experience needed to become effective and inspiring educators. The programme is designed to ensure that apprentices receive high-level support while they train, both in the classroom and with dedicated mentoring.

Salary & Funding:

Apprentices will receive a salary throughout their training, with funding rates for the 2025–2026 academic year as follows:

• £29,000 for Chemistry, Computing, Mathematics, and Physics
• £26,000 for French, German, and Spanish (no other languages)
• £17,000 for other languages, Biology, Design & Technology, and Geography
• £1,000 for Art & Design, Music, and Religious Education (RE)
• The training fee is fully covered by the apprenticeship levy, making it a cost-effective route into teaching.

Entry Requirements:

Qualifications:

• A good degree (minimum 2:2) in the subject area you wish to teach or a closely related field.

At least 50% of your degree should be in the subject you wish to teach, or a Grade B in A-Level in the relevant subject.

GCSEs:

English and Maths (minimum grade C/4).

If you do not meet these qualifications, equivalency tests are available after an offer is made.

Personal Qualities:

A strong desire to make a difference in students' lives and a passion for teaching.

Other Requirements:

Prior classroom experience is not required, though any relevant work with young people is beneficial.

Criminal record checks, health screening, and references will be required upon a successful offer.
