The role

As a Senior Silicon Design Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in designing, optimising, and debugging complex hardware modules to achieve superior performance, efficiency, and reliability.

You will:

1. Collaborate with design, verification, and validation teams to develop advanced silicon solutions.
2. Prepare detailed microarchitecture design specifications and execution plans aligned with project goals.
3. Perform in-depth analysis and optimization of complex circuits, balancing frequency speed, area, power, and performance.
4. Participate in design reviews, providing insightful recommendations for improvement.
5. Maintain and enhance the design environment while tracking and resolving design bugs.
6. Mentor and support graduate engineers and early-career team members, helping them navigate design challenges and learn industry best practices.
7. Foster a culture of learning by contributing to training programs, knowledge-sharing sessions, and technical guidance for junior team members.
8. Leverage the latest techniques, tools, and technologies in silicon design.
9. Plan, schedule, and complete assigned tasks within deadlines.
10. Contribute to open discussions and present technical findings effectively.

You'll have:

1. Solid knowledge of digital integrated circuit design techniques and methodologies.
2. Hands-on experience in RTL design at IP or SoC level.
3. Proficiency in optimizing circuit designs and balancing key trade-offs for performance metrics.
4. Expertise in ASIC or FPGA design tools and environments.
5. Familiarity with writing assertions and creating coverage bins for verification.
6. Strong analytical skills, responsibility, and problem-solving capabilities.

You might also have:

1. Understanding of verification requirements through specification analysis.
2. Experience in GPU/CPU design and associated tools such as UVM or formal verification methodologies.
3. Knowledge of CPU, DSP, or FPU architectures and debugging/testing strategies.
4. Hands-on experience with ASIC, FPGA, and physical design tools (P&R).
5. Proficiency in SystemVerilog, C, SystemC, C++, Python, Perl, or TCL.
6. Knowledge of place and route methodologies.
7. Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, in English.
