Job summary
A leading university in the UK is seeking a research administrator to assist in the day-to-day operations within the Centre for Eudaimonia & Human Flourishing. The role involves designing research protocols, analyzing complex data, and developing computational models in an area of contemplative science and neuroscience. Candidates must have a strong educational background in physics or a related field, along with proficiency in MATLAB and Python. The position offers flexible hybrid working with a minimum of three days on-site.

Education
The post is funded for 1 year and is based in the Centre for Eudaimonia & Human Flourishing, Stoke House, Oxford, OX3 9BX. You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day administration of research activities under the guidance of senior colleagues, contributing to wider project planning and seminar administration. The project is already ongoing, and you will support the Centre's ongoing research in contemplative science, computational neuroscience, and human flourishing.
- Design research materials and protocols.
- Collect and analyse behavioural, physiological and neuroimaging data.
- Develop statistical and computational models using MATLAB or Python.
- Integrate physiological and brain‑imaging data and apply machine‑learning techniques (e.g., support vector machines, gradient‑boosted trees, or convolutional neural networks).
- Assist with project planning and seminar administration.
- First degree in physics (or closely related field) with strong research experience in neuroscience, neuroimaging and neurotechnology.
- Proficient in MATLAB (including EEGLAB), R, and Python.
- Experience in integrating physiological and brain‑imaging data.
- Preferred background in contemplative neuroscience and machine‑learning approaches.
- MA/PhD or Master’s degree in neuroscience, data science, computer science or engineering is desirable.
