Interim Communications Lead

Location: Belfast (on-site)

Hours: 36 hours per week (4.5 days, flexible between 7am-7pm)

Pay: £26.15 per hour PAYE / £34.98 per hour Umbrella

Security Clearance: BPSS+ (arranged by employer)

Are you a hands‑on communications professional with a passion for change and transformation? Join us as an Interim Communications Lead and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of a newly acquired site in Belfast. You'll work closely with project teams, senior leaders, and the wider Airbus Communications community to ensure a smooth transition and deliver clear, engaging communications to colleagues and external audiences.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead Communications Set‑Up: Establish effective communication channels and outputs for the new company, ensuring alignment with Airbus's UK approach and local needs.
  • Support Onboarding: Develop and deliver internal communications tools to support the onboarding of new colleagues.
  • Craft Key Messages: Work with project teams to define and deliver essential messaging and materials throughout the transition phase.
  • Engage Stakeholders: Collaborate with UK and global communications teams, as well as public affairs, to ensure consistent messaging to external audiences.
  • Community Relations: Build strong relationships with local media and community stakeholders, representing the business positively.
  • Event Management: Plan and deliver events that support business objectives and employee engagement.
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience in communications (internal, external, and community relations), ideally within change or M&A environments.
  • Ability to quickly adapt, 'parachute' into new situations, and deliver results from day one.
  • Strong understanding of the UK business landscape, especially Northern Ireland.
  • Excellent writing, content creation, and event management skills.
  • Strategic thinker who can also act swiftly and pragmatically.
  • Confident engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, from colleagues to community partners.
  • Experience supporting M&A processes is highly desirable.
