Job summary
A leading UK Recruitment Agency is looking for a Commercial Lead for Rail projects. This role requires a strong background in Rail and Civils, with the ability to manage large projects (£40m to £300m). Candidates must have a relevant degree, preferred RICS or ICES membership, and demonstrated experience with NEC contracts. Flexibility to travel across the UK is essential for the position.

We are looking for an exceptional Commercial Manager with solid Rail and/or Civils experience to become an integral and vital part of a successful long-term delivery team. The candidate must have a proven track record of delivering projects from £40m to £300m.
The position requires a working knowledge of the Rail industry, coupled with the experience of delivering to NEC 3/4 style contracts and demonstrable understanding of working on a Network Rail Framework.
Flexibility and willingness to travel to multiple sites across the UK is essential.
- Commercial Lead for the project.
- Provide support and advice to commercial and project management teams.
- Efficiently manage all financial functions, including cost management, forecast cost to completion, management of CV systems, and financial reporting.
- Liaise with client and stakeholders on all commercial matters.
- Management of change control.
- Degree qualified, ideally RICS or ICES member.
- Experience in using major forms of contract, including NEC.
- Senior Commercial leadership of Rail/Civil Engineering projects.
- A strong appreciation of the Rail sector, ideally from direct project experience.
- Ability to demonstrate claims production, negotiation, and adjudication knowledge.
- Extensive working knowledge of commercial processes, including contract analysis and risk management.
