Job summary
A leading engineering organization is looking for a Senior / Principal FPGA Engineer in Edinburgh (Hybrid). This role involves FPGA design and development using VHDL/Verilog. Candidates should have over 5 years of FPGA experience and possess strong communication skills. The position offers £90 per hour, requires SC Clearance eligibility, and entails three days on-site work per week.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of FPGA development experience required.
- Must be eligible for SC Clearance.
- Experience with high-speed serial protocols preferred.

- FPGA design & development in VHDL / Verilog
- Verification using VHDL / SystemVerilog
- Debugging & supporting hardware/system integration
- Documentation, reporting & version control
- 5+ years FPGA development (VHDL/Verilog)
- Mentor Graphics tools (HDL Designer, ModelSim/Questa, Precision)
- Xilinx / Intel / Microsemi flows (ISE, Vivado, Quartus)
- FPGA constraints, verification & requirements management
- High-Speed Serial protocols, Linux & scripting
- Strong communication & reporting skills
- DO-254 / safety-critical FPGA experience
- SystemVerilog / UVM verification
- Aerospace/Defence industry background
- ARM/embedded cores & Agile methodologies
- Inside IR35 – £90 p/h
- Hybrid – 3 days per week on-site in Edinburgh
- Must have or be eligible for SC Clearance
