An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Surgical Division to work within CCTSS on the wards as a receptionist. You will be the only receptionist on the ward and will carry out all admin duties including filing, making appointments plus other clerical duties expected by the ward. You may also be asked to work on any ward/ dept within surgical support to ensure the services are covered. The working days will be Monday & Tuesday 0730 - 1800.

This role does not meet the Home office requirements for visa sponsorship.

You will provide a professional front of house and telephone service. Answer enquiries, receive and relay messages, both in person and on the telephone, from patients, visitors and hospital staff also using knowledge of hospital procedures to maintain a professional front of house service. To meet the needs of the service and take into account special requirements. On a daily basis you will process all admissions and discharges on the system, maintain patients case notes and file into the case notes, provide patients appointments when requested and liaise with the ward staff and other multi-disciplinary teams.

Chesterfield Royal Hospital was officially opened by the queen in 1985 and since then it has continued to expand and modernise, currently holding approximately 550 beds. We provide acute in-patient and out-patient care for Chesterfield and the surrounding rural area of North Derbyshire, serving a population of approximately 350,000 people. We are currently rated GOOD by the CQC.

• Completed secondary education

• Relevant clerical experience
• Use of a telephone in a busy environment
• Previous experience in a healthcare environment
• Customer Care experience

• Ability to work under pressure

• Understanding of office procedure
• Knowledge of PAS system
