Overview

We're looking for a warm, professional and intuitive Reception Host to join our friendly Front of House team at Dormy House Hotel & Spa – one of Farncombe Estate's award‑winning luxury hotels overlooking the beautiful village of Broadway. Dormy House is all about relaxed indulgence, where guests arrive as visitors and leave as friends. As a Reception Host, you'll be one of the first faces they see, welcoming them with genuine warmth, professionalism and care from check‑in to check‑out.

Responsibilities
  • Welcoming and hosting guests from arrival to departure with warmth and confidence.
  • Checking guests in and out efficiently using our hotel systems.
  • Anticipating guest needs and delivering thoughtful, personalised service.
  • Sharing your knowledge of the Estate, local area and experiences to enhance every stay.
  • Handling calls, emails and reservations with professionalism and accuracy.
  • Liaising with other departments to ensure seamless communication and guest satisfaction.
  • Supporting the team with luggage, guest transfers and evening hosting in the lounge or bar when needed.
  • Maintaining an immaculate and welcoming reception and lounge area.
Qualifications
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A calm and confident manner, even during busy periods.
  • A team player with a proactive, can‑do attitude.
  • Previous front‑of‑house or reception experience in a hotel environment is an advantage.
  • A driver's licence would be beneficial (to help with guest transfers across the Estate).
Compensation & Benefits
  • £12.60 per hour, rising to £12.80 after one year.
  • Plus tips, meals on duty and uniform provided.
  • 40 hours per week across 5 days (including weekends).
  • 30 days holiday (rising to 35 after 5 years).
