A well-established property and construction consultancy is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their North London team. The role offers the chance to assist in cost consultancy services, supporting senior team members across residential and commercial projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual at the early stages of their QS career, looking to gain hands‑on experience across a mix of residential and commercial developments.
The consultancy supports a wide range of private and public clients across London, offering strong career progression and structured APC support in a collaborative team environment.
The successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor will assist in delivering cost consultancy services from feasibility through to final account. The role will involve supporting senior team members in cost planning, contract administration, and procurement across multiple live projects.
You’ll have the chance to work closely with clients and contractors while developing your technical knowledge and progressing towards chartership.
- Assist in the preparation of cost plans, estimates, and tender documentation
- Support the production of monthly cost reports and financial updates
- Contribute to procurement processes, including tender analysis and recommendations
- Help administer building contracts under JCT and NEC forms
- Attend project meetings and contribute to change control and risk reviews
- Collaborate with senior surveyors and project managers across project stages
- 1-3 years’ experience in a consultancy or client-side QS role
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Familiarity with both pre- and post-contract duties
- Keen to work towards MRICS chartership
- Good communication skills and a proactive approach
- Strong interest in residential and commercial projects in London
