A regional mental health service in Wigan seeks a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to join a multi-disciplinary team. The role involves providing CBT to children and young people facing various mental health challenges, contributing to both individual and group interventions. GMMH Health and Wigan CAMHS are looking to recruit a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to work within the multi-disciplinary mental health team, which implements a stepped-care model of care to children and young people across the Wigan footprint. We are seeking an accredited CBT therapist to work within the wider mental health team alongside other psychological professionals.
The role involves providing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to individuals presenting with common mental health difficulties of varying complexity, where CBT has demonstrated clinical effectiveness. The post holder will work closely with other professionals, contribute to the wider formulation and understanding of distress, and attend multi-professional meetings to share formulations, intervention plans and progress.
The post holder will need current accreditation with the BABCP and evidence of working with clients presenting with complex relational needs. The post holder is primarily responsible for providing CBT assessment, formulation and therapy to service users with complex mental health needs, and to provide services that meet agreed service priorities consonant with practitioner experience and expertise.
In conjunction with other psychological therapists within the service, the post holder will contribute to the provision of individual and group CBT-based interventions.
