Responsibilities
- Manage Complex Caseloads: Coordinate care across the lung cancer pathway.
- Provide Expert Guidance: Offer specialist advice to patients, families, and colleagues.
- Optimise Outcomes: Work with consultants, oncologists, and palliative care to enhance patient experiences.
- Support Holistically: Deliver emotional and physical care, from diagnosis to rehabilitation.
- Provide expert clinical assessment, management, and support for patients with lung cancer throughout their care pathway.
- Coordinate patient care and act as a key point of contact for patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
- Deliver holistic, patient-centered care including symptom management, psychological support, and education.
- Facilitate timely access to diagnostics, treatment, and supportive services.
- Support patients and families in understanding their diagnosis, treatment options, and prognosis.
- Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individual care plans.
- Lead and contribute to service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide education and training to healthcare professionals and patients about lung cancer care and best practice.
- Participate in clinical research and support recruitment where applicable.
- Advocate for patients' needs and ensure equitable access to care and support services.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records in line with professional standards.
