An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 5 Staff Nurse on Ward 12 at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital. The post holder will be expected to undertake duties as a staff nurse in the ward. The post holder will carry out a range of assigned tasks involving direct and indirect care for the benefit of the patient/client in accordance with agreed protocols.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all policies and procedures are observed, and meet Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB requirements, as well as NMC Standards and Codes of Conduct.

Ward 12 is a general medical ward which specialises in a number of disciplines including; diabetes and endocrine and care of the elderly.
Ward 12 are a dynamic, well established ward which will enable you to have any support that you need. Working on a general medical ward allows staff to gain experience with prevention, diagnosis and management of a wide range of medical conditions. Due to the variety of medical specialties, experience can be gained in all areas of medicine which can be beneficial for future progression.
This post is fixed term/secondment for 12 months to meet the needs of the service.

This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. The Health Board currently operate a number of different shift systems. The most common are a 12.5 hour shift, inclusive of either one 30 minute or two 30-minute unpaid breaks.
