Job description
Overview

The Medicines Safety Officer post is an exciting and rewarding post a part of our multi-disciplinary Medicines Safety Team.

This post-holder will provide leadership in medicines safety for two of our Care Groups as well as line management for one of our Medicines Safety Pharmacy Technicians.

The post holder will be a key stakeholder in the Trust's Safe Use of Medicines Plan and a contributing member ensuring its success.

There will also be a clinical component to the role where there will be an expectation to contribute to the clinical services for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • To act as GMMH Medicines Safety Officer
  • To lead all aspects of the medication safety agenda across GMMH
  • To ensure consistent updating of investigations or medication errors
  • To act as an expert specialist medication safety pharmacist
  • To disseminate lessons learnt from incident investigations to identify medication safety issues from national guidance and embed into clinical practice
  • To lead & co-ordinate the Medication Safety Group
