Jobbeschreibung

Go back Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust

Senior Clinical Technologist/Radiographer - Nuclear Medicine

The closing date is 01 July 2025

There is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and skilled technologist to join our friendly, experienced and multicultural Nuclear Medicine team at Diana Princess of Wales Grimsby.

The department has just installed a new GE Discovery 870 SPECT/CT system so experience in hybrid imaging would be an advantage. Our second camera is currently a Philips Brightview SPECT system with plans to replace this with a second SPECT/CT system in the near future. We have just taken delivery of a brand new Technegas generator system for lung imaging.

Previous experience in aseptic radiopharmaceutical production would be of benefit as the department operates an onsite radiopharmacy producing Tc-99m labelled products for own use.

The local area offers some of the lowest housing costs in England and many excellent schools. The area is geographically varied including the Lincolnshire Wolds, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty, and the traditional seaside resort of Cleethorpes

Main duties of the job

The Nuclear Medicine department currently operates 0800-1800 Monday - Friday; the post holder will be expected to participate in this rota - all contracts will be 7 day contracts

The post holders will be expected to participate in all aspects of the department's workload as part of a team. You will be expected to work to extremely high standards of safety with high patient throughput.

Work will include:

  • Patient scanning
  • Image processing
  • Transferring and archiving of patient data
  • Radiopharmacy production and dispensing duties
  • Radiopharmacy cleaning
  • Environmental testing of the radiopharmacy suite
  • Radiation monitoring
  • Radioactive waste management
  • Keeping up to date with personal training and participating in training of less experienced staff.
  • Assisting senior colleagues in day to day running of service.
