A regional fire and rescue service is looking for a Fire Safety (Protection) Inspector in Harrogate. You will conduct audits, enforce fire safety regulations, and mentor staff. The role requires a Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety and proven experience in applying fire safety legislation. A full UK driving licence is also essential. Competitive salary offered, with responsibilities covering various premises across North Yorkshire.
Location: Based in Harrogate – Covering Harrogate, Carven, Hambleton and Richmond
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full Time Day Duty (37hrs Mon – Fri) + Protection Out of Hours Rota (one week in eight)
Salary: NYFRS Grade 10 – £39,862 – £41,771 + an additional 10% Out of Hours Supplement

North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service is recruiting a skilled and motivated Fire Safety (Protection) Inspector to support the delivery of fire protection duties across the county. This specialist role involves conducting inspections, enforcing legislation, leading investigations, and promoting fire safety to protect lives and property.
Appointed under Article 26 of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and Section 19 of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, you will have powers to carry out audits, issue legal notices, and lead enforcement actions where fire safety breaches pose serious risks.
