Location : Office-based in Essex with National Coverage (primarily London area). Salary : Up to £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience). The Fire Service Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient, compliant and high-performing delivery of fire alarm maintenance, remedial works and team management in accordance with BS 5839-1 : 2025.

• Overseeing fire alarm maintenance, inspections, and remedial works to BS 5839-1 : 2025 standards.
• Managing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules and ensuring timely delivery and high completion rates.
• Prioritising and managing reactive works, ensuring compliance with SLAs.
• Providing leadership to 18 engineers, service desk teams and supervisors.
• Conducting team meetings, one-to-ones and performance reviews.
• Managing service backlogs and ensuring safety-critical tasks are addressed promptly.
• Implementing continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency and service quality.
• Acting as the escalation point for customer issues and ensuring effective resolution.
• Collaborating with project and compliance teams to ensure cohesive service delivery.
• Monitoring KPIs, analysing data, and producing performance reports.

• Minimum of 2 years managerial experience.
• Proven experience in fire alarm service management or a similar leadership role within the life safety or building services sector.
• Strong technical knowledge of fire detection and alarm systems.
• In-depth understanding of BS 5839-1 : 2025.
• Excellent leadership and organisational skills.
• Proficient in service management systems and reporting tools.
• Strong communication and customer service abilities.
