Job summary
A local authority is seeking a Locum Information Governance Officer for an initial 3-month assignment, offering up to £30 per hour in a fully remote role. The candidate will be responsible for managing Information Requests and handling sensitive data relating to childcare and social care. Strong experience in Information Governance within public sector settings, along with knowledge of Data Protection legislation and FOI processes, is required. - Proven experience working in an Information Governance role within a public sector or local authority setting.
- Strong working knowledge of Data Protection legislation, FOI, and SAR processes.
- Experience handling sensitive childcare and social care information.

- Ensure all Information Requests are managed and resolved within statutory timeframes.
- Handle Data Protection requests, Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, and Subject Access Requests (SARs).
- Liaise with internal departments to obtain information and ensure timely responses.

Venn Group’s specialist Legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Information Governance Officer to join a Local Authority on an initial 3-month assignment. The role offers fully remote working arrangements and is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Information Governance professional to support a busy team.
Position: Locum Information Governance Officer
Duration: Initial 3 months with the possibility for extension
Rate: Up to £30 per hour umbrella
Working Pattern: Full Time, Remote working
- Ensuring all Information Requests are managed and resolved within statutory timeframes
- Handling Data Protection requests, Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, and Subject Access Requests (SARs)
- Managing requests primarily relating to childcare and social care matters
- Liaising with internal departments to obtain information and ensure timely responses
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
- Proven experience working in an Information Governance role within a public sector or local authority setting
- Strong working knowledge of Data Protection legislation, FOI, and SAR processes
- Experience handling sensitive childcare and social care information
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
