A local authority is seeking a Locum Information Governance Officer for an initial 3-month assignment, offering up to £30 per hour in a fully remote role. Locum Information Governance Officer – Full Time – Up to £30 per hour umbrella – Remote Working – Initial 3 months

Venn Group’s specialist Legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Information Governance Officer to join a Local Authority on an initial 3-month assignment. The role offers fully remote working arrangements and is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Information Governance professional to support a busy team.

The Role:

Position: Locum Information Governance Officer

Duration: Initial 3 months with the possibility for extension

Rate: Up to £30 per hour umbrella

Working Pattern: Full Time, Remote working

Duties will include:
  • Ensuring all Information Requests are managed and resolved within statutory timeframes
  • Handling Data Protection requests, Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, and Subject Access Requests (SARs)
  • Managing requests primarily relating to childcare and social care matters
  • Liaising with internal departments to obtain information and ensure timely responses
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
Ideal Candidate:
  • Proven experience working in an Information Governance role within a public sector or local authority setting
  • Strong working knowledge of Data Protection legislation, FOI, and SAR processes
  • Experience handling sensitive childcare and social care information
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
