Associate Director of Governance

Location: Hybrid – Central London & Home Working

Interim position: 1 year (strong potential to become permanent)

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director of Governance to lead and strengthen our governance, risk, audit and compliance functions. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this senior role provides strategic and operational leadership across governance frameworks, board and committee support, organisational risk management, internal audit, data protection and regulatory compliance. Acting as a trusted advisor to trustees, senior leaders and volunteers, the post holder will ensure robust, transparent and effective decision-making that supports members, upholds public trust and enables organisational impact.

The successful candidate will bring strong governance expertise, credibility at board level and experience operating within a professional body, membership, charity or similarly regulated environment. They will be comfortable balancing strategic oversight with hands‑on delivery, leading teams, managing complex stakeholder relationships and driving continuous improvement.
