Job summary
A technical solutions provider in the United Kingdom is seeking a Manufacturing Control Engineer to focus on automation and robotics and manage NPI projects. The ideal candidate will use Siemens PLC software to enhance manufacturing processes and ensure project health. This position offers a competitive rate and an 18-month contract, likely to extend.

- Knowledgeable in Siemens PLC/HMI for production diagnostics.
- Proficiency in project management from initiation to completion.

- Utilize PLC/HMI software for production issues.
- Manage full scope of NPI or Improvement projects.
- Develop manufacturing process solutions in collaboration with teams.
- Monitor project health and report on targets.
- Ensure equipment specifications meet manufacturing needs.

Role: Manufacturing Control Engineer
Location: Desford, Leicestershire
Hours: 14:30pm - 02:30am Monday - Thursday (4 Day week)
Rate: £32.50 FCSA umbrella (Inside IR35) OR £24.00 PAYE +20% Shift Premium
Duration: 18 months (likely to extend)
- Identify opportunities for automation and robotics, and bring to implementation.
- Effectively use Siemens PLC/HMI software to aid maintenance teams to diagnose production issues.
- Effectively use Siemens/Mitsubishi PLC software to uplift and standardise legacy system assets.
- Proactively identify business opportunities, assess overall impact, and justify to senior stakeholders for capital investment.
- Project management - Full scope, development, budgets, resources, and management of NPI or Improvement projects (Technology/Efficiency/Quality) from initiation to production and program completion.
- Facilitate the development of manufacturing process solutions work with functional teams, using a range of tools e.g. process flows, PFMEA's, control plans. Promote lean and quality as a focus within the business.
- Monitor and report on project health, including issue management to ensure People, Quality, Velocity and Cost targets are achieved.
- Develop equipment specifications and installation requirements and ensure that the equipment is safe and meets the needs of manufacturing.
- Work with facility teams to establish the correct suppliers and manage timelines to ensure successful delivery and implementation.
