Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Diagnose and repair faults on conveyors, motors, sensors, and control panels.
  • Perform PPM activities in line with site schedules and engineering standards.
  • Support improvement projects, installations, and equipment upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and food hygiene standards.
  • Collaborate closely with production and operations teams.

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias – Days)

Salary: £45,000 + overtime + benefits

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday – Days

Industry: FMCG / Food Manufacturing

We’re a well‑established FMCG manufacturer producing high‑quality products for leading brands and retailers. Due to continued investment and site expansion, we’re looking for a skilled Multi‑Skilled Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join our maintenance team on a day shift basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a modern, fast‑paced environment where engineering excellence and reliability are key to success.

The Role

As a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring all site equipment runs smoothly and efficiently. You’ll be working across a range of automated production and packaging machinery, focusing on electrical fault finding, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Diagnose and repair faults on conveyors, motors, sensors, and control panels.
  • Perform PPM activities in line with site schedules and engineering standards.
  • Support improvement projects, installations, and equipment upgrades.
  • Ensure all work complies with health & safety and food hygiene standards.
  • Collaborate closely with production and operations teams to minimise downtime.
About You

Time‑served or qualified to Level 3 or higher in Electrical or Multi‑Skilled Engineering.

Proven maintenance experience in a FMCG, food, or manufacturing environment.

Strong electrical fault‑finding ability – PLC experience (Siemens/Allen Bradley) desirable.

Good understanding of mechanical systems, including pneumatics and hydraulics.

Self‑motivated, hands‑on engineer with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
