A privately owned Groundworks Sub-contractor based in Bedfordshire has an opportunity for an Assistant Contracts Manager to join their team.

The Company - Groundwork & Civil Engineering Contractor

Our client is a well-established, privately owned construction company specializing in ground works and civil engineering across the southeast of England.

Operating out of their Head Office in Bedfordshire, they have sites towards Rugby, along the Thames Valley, down to Crawley, and around North and East London.

They have built a strong reputation with well-known construction companies, and are growing. They are seeking a Trainee Contracts Manager eager to be part of their growth.

Their project values range from £400k to £3m, with an average of £1.5m.

The Role - Assistant Contracts Manager

Your role will involve a mix of office and site work, typically 2 days in the office and 3 on site, or vice versa. You will receive training from site Supervisors and the Construction Director. Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing all aspects of site management, conducting regular site visits to inspect, support, and ensure adherence to schedules and quality standards.
• Coordinating resources for project delivery, including ordering drainage and liaising with suppliers.
• Attending weekly client meetings, taking and issuing notes, and following up on actions.

The ideal candidate will have some supervisory experience in construction, such as currently working as an Assistant Site Manager. Groundworks experience is not essential, but a background in groundworks and a desire to move into a supervisory role is acceptable.
