A leading construction recruitment firm is seeking a Freelance Senior Site Manager in Hove for a 12-month project. The role involves overseeing a new build mixed-use development, managing site activities, and ensuring high standards of health and safety are maintained. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience managing similar projects and be proficient in building relationships across teams. This is a contract position offering £300 per day.

Job description

Freelance Senior Site Manager

Location: Hove | Start: ASAP | Duration: 12 months+ | Rate: £300 per day

This job for a freelance Senior Site Manager takes responsibility for a new build mixed use development, consisting of 3 blocks of 1 - 3 bed flats, office and retail space. You will be an experienced Senior Site Manager who has delivered similar large scale projects and be used to working as a stand‑alone manager taking full management responsibility for all site activity.

You will need to be driven and capable of managing the project from current stage with frame complete through cladding, internals to final finish, 278 works, landscaping to handover maintaining very high HSE standards throughout.

Key skills and experience required

• Maintaining high levels of health, safety and environmental standards
• Strong communication and liaison skills
• CSCS, SMSTS & First Aid at Work
• Day to day supervision and co‑ordination of on‑site staff, subcontractors, plant and materials
• Building and maintaining good relationships across all subcontractors and direct employees
• Maintain strict quality control procedures and conduct regular site safety checks
• Strong attention to detail with a keen eye for producing a high‑quality finish
• Good IT skills including Word, Excel and Outlook
