About Tracer
Many scientists struggle to debug broken bioinformatics pipelines they use for research, slowing down important breakthroughs like drug development that could help millions of people. To solve this, we're building an advanced observability platform tailored for high-performance computing. With $3M funding from top investors, based in central London, we're expanding our engineering team quickly.

Your Mission
As our Senior Fullstack/Front-end Engineer, you’ll have a rare opportunity to build critical user-facing features of our platform from scratch. You’ll be solely responsible for designing, implementing, and owning the front-end and full-stack components, shaping how users interact with our observability product. This role involves significant responsibility, autonomy, and the chance to create a lasting impact through your technical decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and deploy intuitive front-end applications using Next.js and TypeScript.

• Fully own and deliver core features, including real-time observability dashboards, data visualisations, and integrations with backend services.

• Deploy, maintain, and scale applications using Vercel and AWS infrastructure.

• Integrate frontend systems with backend databases (Clickhouse) and APIs.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with backend engineers, product, and design to ensure alignment.

• Set engineering standards, conduct code reviews, and mentor future team members.
  

Skills & Experience

• 3+ years building scalable fullstack or front-end web applications.

• Proven track record of successfully launching front-end applications from scratch.

• Expertise in Next.js, React, and TypeScript.

• Experience deploying and managing front-end systems using Vercel and AWS.

• Strong product sense and ability to link technical decisions to business outcomes.

• Comfortable working independently and taking complete ownership in a fast-paced environment

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with Clickhouse or high-performance data visualization

• Past role as technical lead or sole engineer on key projects

• Prior startup experience or entrepreneurial mindset

• Additional (not mandatory): Rust (backend), Nextflow, AlphaFold, Terraform, eBPF
