The University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust seeks an Estates Technician dedicated to delivering high-quality support for the maintenance of health facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a solid engineering background, with a commitment to improving patient experience through effective service delivery.
Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an Estates Technician to work alongside professionals who care about delivering a first class service.
Having a direct impact on our patient’s experience, you will demonstrate exceptional organisational skills and experience to effectively manage resources dedicated to the operation and maintenance of the Estate, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements, NHS standards, specifications, policy and guidance.
You will have responsibility for the delivery of a safe, responsive, efficient and effective service to Trust properties ensuring that they are provided with appropriate engineering support and advice relating to buildings, plant and equipment, providing technical advice and support for the day to day maintenance and engineering schemes.
You will be part of the team who are responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive maintenance and installation service across the Trust’s estates, which will be responsive, efficient, financially effective and to a high standard. You should possess good IT and communication skills and be prepared to participate in an on-call rota.
It is essential that you are a fully trained, time served Craftsperson, who followed a recognised C&G apprenticeship and achieved HNC/HND or equivalent in an engineering discipline. You must have a working knowledge across a broad range of engineering activities including computerised control systems.
The ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative is essential, and you will be expected to provide and manage a flexible and efficient service to cover a wide range of engineering services to buildings in varied locations.
You should also be able to work as part of an on call rota covering all aspects of building construction and maintenance, hold a current full driver’s license, and live within a 40 minute travelling radius of the Hospital.
