This posting is for Senior Engineer for enabling 24x7 Operations in the Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI) product engineering organization. You will be responsible for managing the uptime of the service and ensuring that customers' data pipeline, which runs complex transformations, runs smoothly. Customers rely on the data that is updated by the pipeline and have downstream dependencies. Therefore, it's important that the data pipeline completes on time and with accuracy. Anomalies should be detected and mechanisms should be put in place to identify early detection of issues so that mitigation can be handled without impacting the overall timelines.

Senior Engineer - Career Level 3
Skills Required:
We are looking for senior engineers with experience in supporting data warehousing products. As a member of the Product Engineering Operations, the focus will be on working with development teams, providing timely support to customers, and identifying/implementing process automation for cloud BI products.
- BS or higher degree in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience supporting business customers on any Cloud/On-premise BI Application
- Experience in SQL/PL-SQL and excellent debugging skills
- Troubleshooting network latency, intermittent issues, reading and analyzing log files
- Working experience with any ERP, HCM, CX applications such as Oracle EBS, Fusion is desired but not a must
- Good programming skills in Python / Java / JavaScript
- Understanding of Web Application Architecture
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is preferred
- Experience in performance tuning SQL and understanding ETL pipelines
- Build, Configure, Manage and Coordinate all Build and Release engineering activities
- Strong logical/critical thinking and problem resolution skills
- Excellent communication skills

- Minimum 5 years of residency in the UK, with no more than 6 months outside of the UK in a single stretch, meaning if personnel exit the UK and do not return back to the UK within 180 days.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for running the FDI Data pipeline operations in a lights-out mode.
- As a member of the team, you’ll build tools and mechanisms to proactively detect issues with the data pipeline.
- Conduct root cause analysis of every issue and build automations for handling similar issues in the future.
- You will address customer issues and tickets within defined SLAs.
- Coordinate and communicate with different stakeholders to formulate solutions to customer issues.
- You will ensure full understanding of the issue, including its impact on the customer.
- Gather logs, configuration details, and attempt to reproduce the reported issues.
- Develop and enhance the knowledge base for the issues and their solutions.
- You will recommend solutions to customers and follow through to resolution or escalate the case in a timely manner if no resolution can be found.
- Participate in knowledge sharing through involvement in technical discussions and Knowledge Base documentation.
- Prioritize workload based on severity and impact to customer and demonstrate a sense of urgency when handling cases.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation through building the right utilities/tools.
