About The Academy:
They are a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Academy in Oxford, committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for children with diverse learning needs. The Academy supports students with a range of SEN, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
They are seeking a highly organised, welcoming, and efficient Receptionist/Administrator to join their team. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth running of the Academy office while providing a warm and friendly first point of contact for parents, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acting as the first point of contact for the academy, greeting visitors and answering queries with professionalism and warmth.
- Managing the academy’s main telephone line and email inbox, ensuring prompt and effective communication.
- Supporting academy administration, including attendance records, student files, and data entry.
- Assisting with safeguarding procedures, including visitor sign-ins and compliance with academy policies.
- Handling correspondence, filing, and general office duties to support the leadership team and teaching staff.
- Coordinating academy events, meetings, and appointments.
- Ordering and managing office supplies to ensure a well-equipped working environment.
Person Specification:
- Previous experience in an academy office or administrative role (preferably within an SEN setting).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable manner.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and school management systems (e.g., SIMS, Arbor).
- Ability to prioritise tasks, work independently, and remain calm under pressure.
- A proactive and flexible approach, with a keen eye for detail.
- Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality within a school environment.
- A commitment to inclusion and supporting children with SEN.
