About the Role

As Head of Finance, you will be responsible for building the processes and managing the daily and strategic & financial operations for us, alongside supporting on broader topics including Legal, HR, Admin and Operations. We’re looking for somebody with experience running finance in VC backed scaling start-ups who is excited to take the opportunity to build out this function from scratch. Specifically you will:

• Build and lead the finance department, developing key functions such as controlling and financial planning.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive finance strategy and model that aligns with our mission and business objectives.
• Oversee accounting, FP&A, liquidity management, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure robust financial management.
• Prepare financial reports for the founders and investors, providing insights and recommendations.
• Support on future fundraises, including preparing financial documents and coordinating with investors.
• Handle HR and People administration, including payroll, benefits, and compliance.
• Oversee legal and entity-related matters, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards in existing and future markets.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial operations and reporting.
• Collaborate closely with department leads to ensure financial alignment and support for business initiatives.

About You

• Proven track record in a high-performance finance function, ideally within an early-stage startup or a fast-moving environment.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. CPA or CFA certification is advantageous.
• Strong experience in setting up and implementing finance functions within a VC-backed startup, including FP&A, controlling, and budget management.
• Expertise in strategic finance and building robust financial models for senior leadership.
• Adept at implementing and managing business KPIs for financial performance.
• Experience in building and managing high-performance finance teams.
• Experience with payments platform Stripe is a big plus.
• Experience in setting up finance automations between tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with diverse stakeholders at various seniority levels.
• Highly adaptable to changing business needs and environments with a focus on problem-solving.
• Fluent in written and spoken English, a basic grasp of German (B1+).
