Project Coordinator/Research Assistant
Location: Regina, Saskatchewan. This position is hybrid. The successful applicant must be based in Regina, Saskatchewan, or within 30 minutes of the city, have a G license, and access to a vehicle.
Preferred start date: June 2nd, 2025.
Salary: $24/hour; (Mileage $0.67/km).

As part of an expansion on CIC’s current food waste diversion pilot projects, Circular Innovation Council is partnering with the City of Regina to undertake an innovative pilot program to test the feasibility of a region-based food waste diversion service model for the Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional sector (ICI). The goal is to improve diversion of surplus edible food and organic materials from landfills and re-purpose them for higher value. Pilot participants can:
This program uses a collective financial model for equitable cost-sharing among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Multi-family properties will engage in behavior change interventions, co-designed and implemented by CIC, to promote tenant participation in organic waste diversion. The City of Regina is using this pilot to explore practical solutions in preparation for the 2026 by-law mandating organic waste diversion in the ICI sector.
This dynamic role combines project coordination and research, supporting CIC’s Project Manager in executing an innovative food waste diversion pilot. As part of CIC’s team, you will support the implementation and research efforts in Regina, helping to drive meaningful change in food waste management in Canada.
