Job summary
A leading truck service company in Oshawa is seeking a Service Advisor to join their team. The successful candidate will handle scheduling service repair work, maintaining strong communication with customers and suppliers. They should have a secondary school diploma and preferably experience in the Heavy Truck or Automotive Industry. - Communicate the status of shop repairs to the next shift advisor.
- Ensure compliance with OHSA standards and safety.
- Check on progress of repairs and contact customers regarding changes.

Tallman Truck Centre Limited is looking for a Service Advisor for our Oshawa location
Reporting to the Service Manager, this position is responsible for scheduling service repair work in a busy service department and following the progress of repairs throughout the day.
Job Responsibilities:
- Answers telephone, coordinates incoming inquiries, and schedules appointments.
- Schedules shop work as efficiently as possible in accordance with dealership policy.
- Establishes and maintains good working relationships with customer and suppliers.
- Opens, processes, and closes daily repair orders.
- Communicates carefully and completely with the next shift advisor by an agreed-upon method (i.e. Email, notes, verbally) re: status of shop.
- Ensures an overall safe work environment for all personnel and works in compliance with OHSA standards.
- Check on progress of repairs and contact customers regarding changes in estimate or promised time.
Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Completion of Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in Heavy Truck or Automotive Industry is preferred/asset.
- Valid G Driver’s License.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer skills – ADP/CDK and Microsoft Office experience an asset.
- Professional and positive attitude with strong customer focus.
- Highly motivated individual and ability to work in a fast paced work environment.
