Te Haeata/The Opportunity

As a Coronial Services Case Manager, you will be based in Hamilton, working alongside the Coroner. Your responsibilities will include coordinating all matters referred to the Coroner. Occasionally, you may be called upon to assist with other matters or support other Coroners outside your region, which may require regional travel.

This challenging and engaging role allows you to utilize your administrative experience, people skills, and relationship management abilities to contribute to providing New Zealanders with a first-class Coronial Service.

Key Responsibilities

1. Gather inquiry information and reports, both physical and electronic, and present this information concisely to the Coroner.
2. Manage large volumes of electronic files while maintaining physical files.
3. Keep the electronic database (CMS) up-to-date, complete, and accurate.
4. Liaise with stakeholders and government agencies, including interested parties, Police, medical practitioners, and pathologists.
5. Contribute to monitoring and reporting on activities within the Coronial Services Unit.
6. Arrange and support the Coroner in conducting preliminary hearings or inquests.

You will need strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with Coroners and handle sensitive interactions with distraught family members. The ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds is essential.

You are expected to provide excellent, highly organized case management support and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Ō Pūkenga/Skills and Experience

1. Ability to access and view graphic coronial material.
2. Strong relationship management and communication skills, both internally and externally, given the sensitive nature of the information.
3. Understanding and appreciation of cultural issues, particularly Tikanga Māori.
4. Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and multitask autonomously.
5. Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

Utu ā-tau/Salary

The salary range for this position is between $66,066 and $84,567, depending on skills and experience.
