Responsibilities:

This project involves the following tasks to ensure the 24x7 operation of the province-wide COMPASS system’s production and backup Oracle Database Appliance (ODA).

Provide technical support in COMPASS production database and application update and migration activities. Services include but not limited to the following:

• Upgrade the Oracle Cloud Control infrastructure to latest version
  
• Update/reconfigure ODA infrastructure
  
• Update IP addresses of ODA infrastructure to the latest COMPASS VLAN topology
  
• Relocate and/or backup existing VMs
  
• Re-create database and restore necessary VMs
  
• Create new VMs and/or databases
  
• Failover database to another ODA
  

Provide preventive maintenance works. Key tasks involve but not limited to the following:

• Monitor and review Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control alerts
  
• Perform regular ODA health checks
  
• Conduct space analysis and checks
  
• Install the latest patches (including latest released Oracle security patches), in the ODA database and Weblogic in both production and backup environment
  
• Maintain the Cloud Control platform
  
• Maintain the Production and Standby Emergency Backup environment and user access control
  
• Provide system support to resolve issue related to Oracle database, Fusion Middleware (Weblogic), Cloud Control and JEOS VMs.
  

Interface with Oracle on behalf of the Client on the following:

• Manage ODA related incidents and Service Requests (SR)
  
• Coordinate hardware repair/replacement of the ODAs
  

The consultant must work closely with the client and will undertake and manage the tasks in close collaboration with the Client. The successful consultant shall meet with the Client’s team on a frequent basis as deemed required by each task.

The consultant must have practical experience in:

• ODA migration in complex production system environment
  
• Deploying and maintaining ODA X9-2HA and X9-2L
  
• Installing, deploying, upgrading and maintaining ODA VM provisioning including the latest versions of Oracle database, Weblogic, Oracle Fusion Middleware, and Linux Just Enough Operation System (JEOS) VMs.
  

Current COMPASS ODA Configurations:

• ODA-X9 (to operate in production environment, pending completion of migration activities):
  
• One ODA X9-2HA with VM Provisioning (not bare-metal) – base configuration
  
• One ODA X9-2L with VM Provisioning (not bare-metal) – base configuration
  
• Oracle 19C Enterprise Edition (subject to change)
  
• Weblogic with Fusion Middleware (Forms/Reports) are running as VMs on the same ODA
  
• Weblogic Managed Server are running as VMs on the same ODA
  
• Oracle Cloud Control is running on all ODAs and its VMs
  
• COMPASS ATMS Distributed Functions’ java programs are running as standalone JEOS VM on ODA DOMx (DOM1, DOM2, etc…) [NK1]
  

Skill Set Requirements

• Practical experience in installing, deploying and provisioning Oracle DB Systems, Oracle 19C Database, VMs and Oracle Weblogic.
  
• Practical expertise in Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) X9 Model Family
  
• Practical expertise in Oracle Standby Database Architecture
  
• Practical expertise in building Oracle Virtual Machine (VM) and VM Template
  
• Practical expertise in applying patches in ODA X9 Model Family
  
• Practical expertise in Oracle Weblogic with Form and Report Services
  
• Practical expertise in working with JEOS Linux
  
• Project management competencies such as planning and organizational skills to be able to complete the deliverables in timeframe provided culminating with high quality results
  
• Previous experience and performance of other similar projects
  
• Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationship with clients
  
• Written and spoken communication skills with respect to both formal presentations, reports and correspondence
  
• Practical experience in Oracle Cloud Control
  
• Practical experience in integrating WLS, JEOS and Cloud Control in ODA-X9 environment

• Demonstrated practical experience in Oracle single-node DB systems and 2-node RAC DB systems on virtual machines within the last 5 years
  
• Demonstrated practical experience in Oracle Standby Database Architecture and Oracle Data Guard within the last 5 years
  
• Demonstrated practical experience in building Oracle Virtual Machine (VM) and VM Template
  
• Demonstrated practical experience in Oracle Weblogic with Form and Report Service (WLS)
  
• Demonstrated practical experience in Oracle Cloud Control
  

Project Management Skills:

• Demonstrated experience with project management and in completing deliverables in timeframe provided culminating with a high quality results
  
• Proven experience deploying, installing, and managing other similar projects
  
• Strong experience with building effective working relationship with clients
  
• Strong written and spoken communication skills with respect to both formal presentations, reports and correspondence
  

ODA Experience:

• Demonstrated experience in Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) X9 Model Family
  
• Demonstrated practical experience in applying patches in ODA X9 Model Family
  
• Demonstrated practical experience in deploying, upgrading and managing Oracle Real
  
• Application Cluster database (including backup/standby) in Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) Virtual Machine (VM) provisioning.
