They have engaged ROSS to help them recruit a Cloud Software Development Manager or Lead/Architect. They're located in Vaughan and provide an exceptional work environment and very competitive compensation.

As a Software Development Manager or Lead/Architect, you will hire, grow, mentor, and lead a team of software developers and architects that will create a cloud platform for our client’s new generation of applications, migrate the current desktop applications to the cloud platform over time, and create new services on that platform.

1. Managing and growing a software engineering team of up to 20 developers that will design and implement the front end and back end for our future hybrid cloud platform.
2. Providing strong technical leadership and direction to the team.
3. Supervising architectures and leading efforts to develop the technical roadmap of projects.
4. Leading the team by example, and hands-on at Gemba at least 30% of the time or as practical.
5. Setting up performance goals for team members, evaluating performance, providing coaching and facilitating professional development.
6. Hiring appropriate staff and consultants.
7. Ensuring all departmental procedures, processes, and best practices are being followed.
8. Recommending improvements to help enhance effectiveness and efficiency of the department and taking ownership of some departmental initiatives.
9. Collaborating and negotiating with personnel inside and outside the departments to ensure effective planning and successful development of software products.

Must have Qualifications:

1. Possesses outstanding communication, leadership/people management skills. Ability to lead and inspire teams to success.
2. 5+ years of experience in Cloud solutions (PaaS/SaaS) Strategy and Implementation for mid or large size organizations (this includes hybrid/private/public Clouds). Must have good knowledge of creating hybrid cloud software solutions.
3. 5+ years of experience with cloud relevant application architectures such as microservices or building cloud-native applications.
4. Excellent logical and analytical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to deal well with ambiguous or insufficiently defined problems, and make quick yet well-informed decisions.
5. Solid understanding of the software fundamentals, regardless of the particular languages, frameworks, platforms, or technology.
6. Excellent communication and listening skills.

Good to have Qualifications:

1. 2+ years of experience with C#/.NET technologies. (Their existing applications are mostly written in C#/.NET).
2. Extensive experience with creating hybrid cloud solutions is preferred.
3. Professional Certifications – AWS/Microsoft Cloud Certifications, TOGAF, PMP.
4. Advanced Computer Science degree preferred.
5. Experience with designing, migrating/implementing systems on leading commercial Cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, and Google.
6. Experience with containerization and container orchestration platforms.
7. Experience with modern development and testing techniques such as continuous delivery and continuous integration.
8. Technology understanding of API management solutions and their role in enabling an enterprise cloud.
