Location:Victoria, British Columbia
Reporting to:Operations Manager

Trio Ready Mix, a Ralmax Group of Companies, has an exciting and immediate opening for a full-time Concrete Ready-Mix Driver in Victoria. The Concrete Ready-Mix Driver delivers concrete to industrial, commercial, and residential construction job sites in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver concrete to the customer in a timely manner and provide excellent customer service
  • Work closely with dispatch to ensure quickest and safest route to jobs
  • Maintain vehicle in a clean, organized, and safe fashion and perform routine maintenance
  • Observe and follow all safety precautions and rules specified by site, city, provincial, federal and Company regulations
  • Work around plant and operate equipment as needed
  • Operate a Ready Mix Truck in urban areas and tight construction sites
  • Contribute to keeping locations in and around the plant clean and hazardous free
  • Perform pre and post-trip safety check on equipment daily to ensure safe operation.

Qualifications:


Education and Experience:

  • The ability to drive standard or manual transmission is essential
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Experience safely driving heavy trucks for 3 or more years.
  • Demonstrated communication and problem-solving skills while working with customers.
  • Solid knowledge of local and provincial transportation regulations and trucking routes.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge or skill for minor preventative maintenance and pre-shift inspections
  • An understanding of concrete products
  • City driving experience and geographical knowledge of the Greater Victoria area

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to follow all Company policies and procedures, including safety
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers and/or supervisors with other duties as required

Requirements:

  • Must have a current and valid Class 1 or 3 Driver's License with air endorsement
  • Must provide a clean driver’s abstract
  • Must be willing to work overtime as required, as well as nights and weekends when necessary
  • Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time, able to lift and assemble concrete chutes weighing 50 lbs, kneel, climb ladders, and walk on varied terrain
  • Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
  • Hazards associated with the trade
  • Work both indoors and outdoors
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
