Make a Difference Within Our CommunityCurrently, the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation (MSIFN) is looking for an experienced Water/Wastewater Operator (Wastewater Focused) to join our community and work with our members and management team in Scugog, ON on a full-time basis. The hours of this role are Monday to Thursday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, and Friday 8.30 am to 1:00 pm. Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required to meet operational needs. Position includes after-hours emergency on-call rotation.
The “Cross-functional” Water/Wastewater Operator under the guidance of the Water Wastewater Manager & Supervisor will deliver continuous, safe, and efficient Water and Wastewater services to the MSIFN Community. With minimal supervision, the incumbent will carry out prescribed monitoring, operation, and maintenance functions in the water and wastewater treatment processes; treatment plants; and in the distribution and collection Systems. The incumbent will also participate in rotational on-call; provide rotational coverage for weekends and holidays for 2 hours each day to test and validate normal working conditions of both the water and wastewater systems. Time spent while providing weekend and holiday coverage will be compensated by taking time off during the normal work week.
