Main purpose of the job

Monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations and ensuring that the occupational health, safety and environmental management plan is implemented

Main tasks

1. Coordinate HSE activities on campuses.
2. Provide risk management support.
3. Provide general HSE administration.
4. Ensure submission of reports.
5. Assist in development and Implementation of HSE management system and review thereof.
6. Construction Management.
7. Establishment of HSE committees.
8. Communicable disease control.
9. Emergency Management.
10. Event Management.
11. Accident / Incident.
12. HSE compliance training.
13. Coordinate HSE project.

Nature of appointment: Fixed-term Support Services

Minimum salary scale (Total Cost to Company): R 641 532 per annum

Accordingly, the preferred candidate may expect an offer that is in line with their qualifications and years of similar experience. Minimum Qualification/ Knowledge and/or Experience

• Advanced Diploma in Environmental Health or Safety Management or equivalent qualification.
• Registration with the HPCSA in a relevant field.
• Two (2) years’ practical experience in the field..

Desired Qualification, Knowledge and/or Experience

• Post-graduate Diploma in Environmental Health or Safety Management or equivalent qualification.
• Registration with the South African Council for Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP)
• Four (4) years’ practical experience in the field.
