Duties :

1. Operational Management : Oversee all aspects of the lodges operations together with the Lodge Resident Manager.
2. Manage the lodges budget, track revenue and expenses, and implement strategies to maximize profitability.
3. Prepare regular reports on the lodges performance, including occupancy rates, revenue, and expenses.
4. Address and resolve any issues or problems that arise in a timely and effective manner, including management of Annual Union Negotiations.
5. Promote sustainable practices within the lodge, such as water conservation, waste reduction, and energy efficiency.

Strategic Planning :

1. Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the organizations overall goals.
2. Collaborate with senior management to formulate long-term plans and objectives.
3. Drive the broader goals of the group as agreed with the General Manager of Operations.

Resource Management :

1. Oversee the allocation of resources, including personnel, equipment, and finances.
2. Optimize resource utilization to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.

Process Optimization :

1. Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes for enhanced efficiency and productivity.
2. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to streamline workflows.

Supply Chain Management :

1. Ensure a seamless flow of goods and services from suppliers to customers.
2. Mitigate risks in the supply chain and establish strong vendor relationships.

Team Leadership :

1. Effective leadership and management skills.
2. Build and lead a high-performing operations team.
3. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment to enhance team morale and productivity.
4. Leading, training and motivating the teams.

Quality Control :

1. Establish and enforce quality control standards to meet customer expectations.

1. Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
2. Establish contingency plans to ensure business continuity in the face of unforeseen challenges.

1. Evaluate and implement technology solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
2. Stay abreast of technological advancements to leverage cutting-edge tools.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Requirements :

1. Grade 12 Formal hotel / hospitality tertiary qualifications.
2. Tertiary education in Sales & Marketing would be advantageous.
3. A minimum of 5 years General Management experience in Hospitality Industry with proven track record within a Luxury Lodge environment.
4. Excellent communication, customer service & organization skills, possessing a good command of the English language.
5. Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, along with financial acumen and a customer-centric approach to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
6. Able to multitask and deliver in accordance with company standards.
7. Ability to handle pressure, and addressing and resolving conflicts professionally and efficiently if required.
8. Valid RSA ID.
9. Valid Drivers License and own vehicle required.
10. Position includes extensive travel.
11. Knowledge of Game Reserve Operations and an understanding of luxury safari operations to ensure the implementation and delivery of luxury standards in all properties.
