We are seeking a dedicated Engineering Overseer / Shift Boss to support our mining and construction teams in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality projects in a hard rock mining environment.

• Ensure the health and safety of the work teams under his / her control
• Assist in developing project plans, schedules, and budgets for mining and construction projects.
• Collaborate with senior managers to define construction project and mining operation goals.
• Work closely with stakeholders, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth execution of both construction and mining activities.
• Support planning and supervising daily mining operations, including drilling, blasting, and extraction.
• Conduct regular site visits (surface and underground) to monitor progress, ensure compliance with safety and operational standards, and resolve on-site challenges.
• Oversee and coordinate shift handovers, ensuring effective communication between teams.
• Participate in and supervise mine blasting activities, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure proper preparation, handling, and detonation of explosives in hard rock mining environments.
• Maintain accurate records of all blasting operations and report outcomes to senior management.
• Track construction project and mining operation expenses, analyze variances, and recommend cost-saving measures.
• Assist in the allocation and management of personnel, equipment, and materials across shifts.
• Support the implementation of quality control and safety processes to ensure all work meets industry and mining standards.
• Participate in safety meetings and contribute to the development of safety plans for both construction and mining operations.
• Maintain accurate construction project and mining operation documentation, including shift and blasting reports, drawings, contracts, and change orders.
• Prepare regular updates and reports for project and mine stakeholders.
• Facilitate effective communication between construction, mining teams, and management.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.

• Adherence to construction project and mining operation schedules and timelines
• Budget and cost control in both construction and mining activities
• Compliance with quality, safety, and blasting standards
• Effective communication and problem-solving across shifts
• Accuracy and completeness of documentation and shift / blasting reports
• Client and stakeholder satisfaction

• Relevant engineering or construction management qualification (advantageous)
• Mine Overseer Certificate for Hard Rock Mining (essential)
• Proven experience in mining operations, including drilling and blasting activities
• Previous experience in construction or mining environments preferred
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to work shifts and support shift bosses in mining activities
• Commitment to safety and quality standards
