Development and maintenance of procurement policies and procedures to support business objectives and to promote competitiveness, fairness, and good corporate governance.
Development of strategies to guide the company's purchasing for each category of spend to optimize value, achieve supply efficiency, minimize process costs, and manage supply risks.
Establishing and managing supplier relationships that enable performance measurement and improvement, encourage cost and quality initiatives, and promote good corporate governance and win-win relationships.
Developing and maintaining systems and processes for order fulfillment and third-party logistics.
Ensuring process standards that facilitate early risk management, promote best value propositions, and ensure transparency in offers and decisions.
Managing ongoing cost-saving initiatives to optimize spend and enhance company competitiveness.
Developing freight mode guidelines to meet service and cost objectives and managing third-party logistics providers.
Monitoring supplier performance for both imported and local orders.
Creating contingency sourcing plans as part of business continuity planning.
Developing systems, policies, and procedures for contract management to ensure quality delivery and risk mitigation.
Building a high-performing, motivated team aligned with career development goals.
Aligning with market SCM heads on M-Pesa in-market spend to maximize group purchasing power.
Technical / professional qualifications:
Degree in Technology, Engineering, Business, or similar qualification.
Graduate Diploma in Supply Chain Management or similar qualification.
At least 7 years’ experience in procurement and vendor management, with responsibilities including policy development, performance management, and supplier partnerships, leveraging ERP capabilities.
