Job summary
A leading recruitment firm is seeking a skilled IT Support Specialist to handle product installations and customer support queries, primarily in Linux and Windows environments. This role will begin with training in Cape Town and evolve into a remote position for support in the USA. Ideal candidates will have strong troubleshooting skills and experience in open-source solutions.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years’ experience in Linux and Windows server environments.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP and DNS.
- Experience with installation and configuration of open source solutions.

- Product installations, configuration and upgrades.
- Customer support query resolution.
- Monitoring performance tuning for capacity management.

- Centralised backup and restore activities
- Liaising with Product Development personnel, for product enhancements and troubleshooting
- 3-5 years’ experience in Linux and Windows server environments, Linux being predominant
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP and DNS
- Experience with installation, configuration and maintenance of open source solutions
- Experience with Office 365 / Exchange as well as with Azure / Windows Active Directory
- Linux (Ubuntu, Redhat, Oracle), Windows Server 2012/2016, Office 365, Active Directory, Exim
- Kubernetes, Docker support experience
This will become a remote position for support in the USA. First 2 months for training puposes will happen in Claremont Cape Town, Month 3 onwards the employee will work USA hours remotely, possibly a few days per month in the Claremont Cape Town office.
