Bookkeeper

My client in the Overberg, Hermanus, is looking for a bookkeeper to join their boutique and dynamic accounting firm.

Area: Hermanus

Type: Full day position, working from home. (Within 1 hour from Hermanus with the ability to attend occasional in-person meetings.)

Salary: Market-related and depending on experience.

Overview

Responsible for day-to-day financial administration using Pastel. This includes bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, payroll processing, and assisting with monthly reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate financial records.
  • Manage payroll and pension submissions.
  • Conduct monthly bank and payment gateway reconciliations.
  • Raise and track invoices, process payments, manage expense claims. Assist with VAT filings and end-of-month reporting packs.
  • Support year-end accounting and liaise with external accountants.
Requirements
  • 3+ years’experience in a similar bookkeeping role.
  • Relevant qualifications are not a requirement but will be a bonus.
  • Strong attention to detail and understanding of payroll/tax processes.
