Job summary
A leading technology firm in Cape Town is seeking a motivated individual for a role focused on application support and database management. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL skills and experience with Linux operating systems. Responsibilities include deploying web applications, creating SQL scripts, and collaborating with stakeholders to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications
- Experience in IT environment, such as application support or database support.
- Solid experience in writing SQL queries.
- Positive attitude and self-motivated.
Responsibilities
- Deploying and supporting web applications.
- Deploying and supporting Oracle and Postgres Databases.
- Creating SQL scripts to resolve customer queries.
- Manage Linux Operating systems.
- Test deployed applications and troubleshoot configuration errors.
- Determine application data access requirements with users.
- Communicate project activities with customers and Project Managers.
Skills
Education
- Deploying and supporting web applications
- Deploying and supporting Oracle and Postgres Databases

- Deploy and manage Linux Operating systems
- Test deployed applications and troubleshoot configuration errors
- Interact with development and end-user personnel to determine application data access requirements and other relevant requirements
- Communicate both written and verbal activities with customers and Project Managers to meet specified project deadlines
- Experience working in an IT environment e.g. application support, database support or testing
- Degree, BTech or National Diploma in Computer Science or similar
- Linux LI-LE or similar certification
We are looking for candidates who have a positive attitude, are self motivated and have an aptitude for solving problems. It is preferred the candidates have exposure to Linux Operating systems and have solid experience in writing SQL queries.
