MTN is entering a new phase where operational and commercial excellence are critical for success. The urgency for change has increased amidst heightened competition in all markets where MTN operates. The Administrator must ensure successful delivery in the context of:

  • An expertise-based multicultural organization.
  • A dynamic and evolving telecommunications field.
  • Revolutionary workforce practices integrating global labor markets.
  • Managing executive and local shareholder expectations across MTN and its OpCos.
  • A dynamic legal and regulatory environment.
  • Market convergence and exploration of non-traditional revenue streams requiring complex interpretation and structuring.
  • Accelerating growth and contributing to Group Service Revenues.
  • Implementing a “hybrid model” operating strategy, with Group leading portfolio definition and local OpCo managing go-to-market and sales.

The role is accountable for the following key areas:

  • Managing the diary and schedule of the assigned Executive(s).
  • Coordinating payments with Finance for third-party expenses.
  • Overseeing the administration of the Executive office and diary.
  • Maintaining documentation and filing systems.
  • Ensuring document quality and compliance for Executive review.
  • Handling internal and external correspondence.
  • Preparing monthly activity reports.
  • Processing requisitions for the Executive office.

Office Management

  • Organizing social events, managing budgets, and coordinating activities.
  • Arranging local, international, and personal travel.
  • Developing and maintaining filing and document tracking systems.
  • Managing team forums and meetings.
  • Handling travel arrangements for the team.
  • Coordinating department conferences.
  • Tracking budgets and payments.

Project Management

  • Coordinating diaries and travel planning.
  • Planning and coordinating events.

Education

  • A first degree in Secretarial Administration or related field.

Experience

  • Minimum three years in an administrative role in a reputable company.
  • Experience supporting top management with local and international operations.

Competencies

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of MTN administration policies.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Interpersonal skills across management levels.
  • Ability to work independently and produce quality results.
  • Excellent communication skills.
