A leading recruiting firm is seeking a Senior Finance Executive in Johannesburg who will act as a trusted business partner and provide commercial insight. Key responsibilities include managing budgets, forecasts, and financial statements, while ensuring compliance with governance standards. The ideal candidate should have a CA(SA) qualification and strong experience in financial management, team leadership, and strategic planning. CA(SA) qualification (essential).
Proven senior financial leadership experience in the automotive, luxury retail, or similarly complex operational environment.
Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and governance.
Exposure to multi-entity or group reporting environments advantageous.
Experience operating within structured or international brand environments preferred.
Act as a trusted business partner to the MD and Exco, providing commercial insight and financial guidance.
Contribute to strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term business plans.
Support pricing, margin management, profitability analysis, and cost optimisation initiatives.
Provide clear, actionable financial insights to support fast, informed decision‑making.
Full responsibility for monthly management accounts, forecasts, budgets, and statutory financial statements.
Ensure robust financial controls, policies, and governance frameworks are in place and operating effectively.
Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships.
Oversee audits (internal and external), tax compliance, and statutory reporting.
Ensure compliance with IFRS, Companies Act, tax legislation, and group reporting requirements.
Manage financial risk, internal controls, and audit outcomes.
Ensure adherence to regulatory, insurance, and compliance requirements appropriate to a top‑class automotive brand.
Work closely with operations, sales, and aftersales to understand key cost drivers and improve financial performance.
Support operational efficiency initiatives, systems improvements, and process automation.
Oversee and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing finance team.
Promote ethical leadership, high standards, and strong collaboration across the business.
Operate as a visible, engaged, and approachable leader.
Strong technical accounting and compliance knowledge.
Solid commercial acumen with the ability to translate numbers into business decisions.
Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
Strong understanding of cash flow, working capital, and profitability drivers.
Hands‑on, commercially minded, and pragmatic, comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, high‑expectation environment.
