Description: The Department of Game Software Design and Production is seeking an applicant with expertise in game and project management with the ability to assist in teaching project courses based on games and simulation.
We are primarily looking for someone with experience as a project manager in the game development or software development industries. A proven track record of planning projects, assessing risks and opportunities, creating budgets, communicating with stakeholders, troubleshooting problems, and resolving obstacles to project completion.
This position is offered at the Lecturer or Assistant Professor rank. Candidates with exceptional qualifications may be considered for appointment at the rank of Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor.
This position can be part-time or full-time depending on a candidate’s level of interest and personal commitment.
Responsibilities: Teaching is the main responsibility for the potential candidate. The candidate is expected to teach team-based courses in game and simulation design, focusing on both 2D and 3D formats with an emphasis on project management. Other responsibilities include grading, reviewing, and critiquing student team projects, as well as providing design guidance as needed throughout the course. Preparing and updating Excel spreadsheets, rubrics, and other documents to effectively track student team progress is another key responsibility. The role also involves engaging in advising and mentoring students, both individually and in teams, and conducting lectures and teaching sessions in classroom or lab settings.
