Job summary
A local bakery in Singapore is seeking a kitchen staff member to prepare and serve menu items, maintain food storage, and ensure cleanliness in the kitchen. The role requires attention to detail in food preparation and adherence to safety procedures. Ideal candidates must be organized and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve menu items according to recipes and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen workstations.
- Proper handling and storage of food to minimize spoilage.
- Track food inventory and ensure supplies are stocked.
- Handle kitchen equipment and utensils safely.
- Prepares and serves menu items in compliance with menu recipe and standards.
- Prepares work stations and collects all necessary supplies to prepare menus for service.
- Prepares mise-en-place for daily menus including basic sauces and supplementary garnishes.
- Tracks and dates food items.
- Ensures that food storage at station is tidy and well maintained.
- In charge of replenishments and new orders.
- Follows instructions on handling of ingredients to minimize food waste.
- Proper use of kitchen equipment and utensils.
- Ensures the proper handling and storage of food so as to keep spoilage to a minimum.
- Keeps the workstations clean and sanitized and observes proper safety procedures at all times.
- Assists with inventories as scheduled.
- Maintains all operating equipment in good working conditions and advises supervisor to raise repairs and maintenance requests when necessary.
- Opens and closes the workstation correctly with checklists.
- Ensures high standards of sanitation, cleanliness and safety are maintained throughout all kitchen areas at all times.
- Supports safe work habits and a safe working environment at all times.
