Job summary
A construction safety firm in Singapore seeks a Safety Coordinator to implement safety policies, conduct audits, and provide training to ensure compliance with safety regulations. The role requires at least 2 years of relevant experience and a WSH Safety Coordinator Advance Certificate. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential. The ideal candidate will promote a safety-first culture and handle incident investigations in a collaborative environment.
Qualifications
- Possess WSH Safety Coordinator Advance Certificate (Level B).
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience in the construction field.
- Well-versed in Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental regulations.
Responsibilities
- Implement and enforce safety policies and regulations.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections.
- Respond to and investigate accidents and incidents.
Skills
Education
- Implement and enforce safety policies, procedures, and regulations
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and site assessments to identify hazards, unsafe practices, and non-compliance issues.
- Issue safety violation notices, corrective actions, and follow-up on remediation to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Identify, evaluate, and assess potential safety risks, hazards, and exposures associated with construction activities, equipment, and materials.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, controls, and preventive measures to minimize accidents, injuries, and property damage.
- Coordinate with project teams, engineers, and contractors to address safety concerns, resolve issues, and implement safety improvements.
- Conduct safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and workshops for employees, subcontractors, and site personnel to promote awareness, knowledge, and compliance with safety guidelines.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and support to workers on safe work practices, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and emergency response procedures.
- Monitor and track safety training completion, certifications, and competency assessments to ensure workforce readiness and compliance.
- Respond to and investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes, contributing factors, and lessons learned.
- Document and report safety incidents, injuries, and property damage, and ensure timely notification to management, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders as required.
- Develop and maintain incident reporting systems, databases, and records to track and analyze safety performance trends and metrics.
- Foster open communication, collaboration, and teamwork among project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to promote a safety-first culture.
- Participate in safety meetings, committees, and reviews to discuss safety performance, initiatives, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Engage with regulatory agencies, safety organizations, and industry associations to stay updated on safety trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.
- Possess WSH Safety Coordinator Advance Certificate (Level B)
- At least 2 years of work experience relevant to the work in Construction field to be carried out by a WSH Coordinator.
- A valid Singapore Class 3 licence is an added advantage.
- Well-versed in Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental regulations.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
