The Research Assistant will play a role in setting up environmental research by establishing and optimizing MinION-based sequencing workflows. This position will support the generation of high-quality genomic data from diverse environmental samples, contributing to a deeper understanding of complex ecosystems and driving impactful scientific discoveries.
Degree in Life Sciences or Environmental Science
Research Assistant to support environmental sequencing projects using the MinION platform. Responsibilities include preparing environmental samples for DNA extraction, performing DNA extraction and library preparation, operating the MinION sequencer, performing basecalling and quality control of sequencing data, contributing to bioinformatic analysis, and maintaining laboratory equipment. The research assistant will also support field trips in forests to help collect samples.
