As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast‑paced business grow and evolve. In this role, you will build Cloud Interconnect, which virtualizes the edge and backbone and allows enterprise customers to connect their on-premises data centers/networks to GCP at 100 and 10 Gb/s speed. Interconnect has been one of the key features for GCP to onboard large enterprises and as such is a high impact project. You will also span to connecting smaller customers through partners, as well as building ultra‑low‑latency interconnects in order for customers to be able to use large file stores and databases operated by third‑parties, adjacent to (but not within) Google data centers. You will manage complexity from physical network and routers through cloud virtualization.

• Support the launch of Cloud networking infrastructure to enable AI driven workloads to unlock their full potential.
• Design, develop, and scale cloud networking products and infrastructure to enable the hybrid cloud technical roadmap, ensure their availability, reliability, and performance.
• Advocate and drive engineering and operational excellence.
• Create designs for complex projects, collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver on ambitious goals.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• Ability to communicate in Mandarin and English fluently to partner with local clients and regional partners.

• Master's degree in a relevant technical field.
• Experience in networking spanning one or more of the configuration, control and data planes.
• Experience with infrastructure technologies including developing large‑scale distributed systems.
• Experience developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact.
• Ability to help quickly and resolve customer‑related issues.
